INTEGRATED MANAGEMENT SYSTEM

Laurie Curran Water Pty Ltd operates under an Integrated Management System (IMS). The IMS is applicable to all of our activities. All staff and subcontractors are required to comply with the processes and controls described.

LC Water operates under an Integrated Management System (IMS) which governs how we conduct ourselves in all aspects of our business, from in-house design and document control through to project execution and safety on site. All staff and our sub-contractors are required to comply with the processes and controls described.

The IMS is based on the requirements of the national and international standards for occupational health and safety (AS/NZS 4801:2001), environmental (ISO AS/NZS 14001:2004) and quality assurance (ISO AS/NZS 9001:2008) management and AS/NZS 4360:2004 Risk Management Guidelines.

These plans and our implementation thereof ensure each project execution is governed by a unique Project Management Plan (Project IMS), covering all aspects of the project’s management, assuring compliance with all quality, safety, environmental, and client requirements.

The system has been assessed and registered as complying with the requirements of the Civil Contractors Federation Construction Management Code, inclusive of Environmental, Occupational Health and Safety and Quality Management. The scope of Works covered by Certification: Design and construction of water and wastewater treatment facilities : Code Description – E1 – Earthworks, E3 – Dams and Tailing Dams, S1 – Sewer Reticulation and Renewal, W1 – Water Reticulation and Renewal.

Out IMS has also has been assessed as meeting with the requirements of the NSW Government Work Health & Safety Management Guidelines (Edition 6)

As part of LC Water’s Risk Management process, we use the IMS to ensure appropriate planning of all operations. This is demonstrated by the development of a Project Management Plan (Project IMS) which is tailored to address SHEQ issues directly pertinent and specific to each individual project. This plan covers all aspects of project management to ensure compliance with all quality, safety, environmental standards, and any other requirements mandated by our clients.

The IMS is comprised of:

Project IMS. This provides the system and process framework necessary to achieve compliance to safety, environmental and quality standards, and any other requirements specified by our clients.

Project Specific Documents. These describe specific controls tailored to the project and its work stages, providing go-to guidance for all quality, environmental, and safety aspects of the work. Examples may include a Work Health and Safety Plan, Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS), or Environmental Management Plans, for example. Other quality management instructions may also be included, such as Inspection and Test Plans which govern commissioning practices, or Safety in Design protocols, which ensure the treatment plants we design are safe to operate.

Forms and Checklists that are completed during project execution; for example to audit plant safety before use, to conduct a hazard assessment, or complete and incident investigation.

Records are maintained to provide evidence of conformity to project requirements and the effective implementation of the IMS.
